I Don’t Want To Grow Up

I may be getting older but I refuse to grow up/I don't want to grow up/www,befat.net/Stephanie DelTorchio/inspirational quote/on getting old

I‘m still trying to decide what I want to be when I grow up. Does that make me a female version of Peter Pan? Holding off the growing up part as long as possible? Tell that to the gray hairs and wrinkles (calling ’em what they are folks) that prove I’ve “matured”.

If growing up means being a responsible adult, then fine. Box checked. I’m officially an adult. Whatever that means. I raised good kids, pay my taxes and only wear a bikini in the privacy of my own backyard. You’re welcome.

In the meantime I’m sticking with my plan to remain “CONSCIOUSLY UNDECIDED” — as far as being a “grown-up” is concerned. This job title allows for lots of latitude, growth and discovery.

Tell me…are you a grown-up or just pretending to be one?

When It’s Time To Move On

Inspirational quote/quotes on change/befat.net/Stephanie DelTorchio

You usually know when it’s time for a change. Time to move on. To separate from situations that no longer fulfill your needs or elevate your growth.

Away from toxic and harmful people, even well-meaning people, who do not or cannot support your higher purpose.

You feel it at your core when it’s time to move towards new or better opportunities.

Whether you move to another room, down the street or across the divide, use your wings to take you where you must go. Because you can.

Should You Choose To Accept

Mission Possible/empowering quote/positive quote/funny blog post/sdeltorchio@befat.net/befat.net

Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to express your passion, creativity, gifts and talents in any way that fulfills your life and makes the world a better place to live.

Unfortunately, sometimes the mission is challenged. Compromised by the likes of self-serving evil bad guys and cluttered with obstacles, detours and fast moving trains. Your need to express yourself is hopefully less dramatic and more “possible” than these (very strained and corny) movie analogies.

Your job (which the rest of us BEG you to accept) is to stop the bad guys, avoid or conquer things in your way and save your piece of the world. Do this well and you may find yourself offered another mission. Should you choose to accept, of course.

This message will self-destruct in 1,440 minutes, the amount of time in this day.

Message In A Bottle

Inspirational quote/Funny quote/Empowering quote/Humorous quote/befat.net/Stephanie DelTorchio Making wishes are fine. If you’re eight years old.

But you’re a grown-up.

So looking for someone else to grant your wish is rather childish.

Three wishes? Stop it.

You are smart. Resourceful. Curious.

You are able to learn new things. Take on challenges.

Decide on what you want to manifest in your life.

Go and make your own wishes come true.

BE F-G AWESOME TODAY!

Get Your Own F*g Pony

Funny quotes/funny quotes on raising children/inspirational quotes/befat.net/Stephanie DelTorchio/9.3.2016

Mom, can we go to the zoo?” says the five-year-old.

“Tomorrow,” says the mother.

“Mom, can I have a pony?”

“Later.”

“Dad, when can we get a red sports car like Tommy’s dad?”

“Someday.”

Parents fall back on three textbook answers to nagging questions:

“Later,” “Tomorrow,” and “Someday”.

Why?

9.2.2016 BeFAT Jar Update

Here’s an update on the BeF.A.T. jar that I started on January 1st — eight months of finding something awesome in each day. It ain’t always easy people…

So my computer decided to freeze up today while saving a rather larger document.

Four-hundred and six tries later… Okay, slight exaggeration…

Instead of heaving the thing across the room — so wanted to — I wandered in circles around the house.  Normal behavior for me to solve problems, and find missing reading glasses, and contemplate life’s great debates, like why all the fuss over paper versus plastic?

In truth, circling the furniture wastes a lot of time and begs more questions than answers.

When’s the last time this place got dusted? Is there a reason the light on the cable box has been blinking since 2004? And why is there a banana peel in the bathroom sink…Why? Who left it there?

Live A Life That Matters

Live A Life That Matters/positive inspirational quote by Marcus Aurelis/befat.net/Stephanie DelTorchio/9.1.2016

(NOTE: This was sent to me by a friend of this website. What a beautiful and inspirational message — perfectly aligns with the BeF.A.T. mantra. Passing along to you to enjoy and share.)

Live A Life That Matters

Ready or not, some day it will all come to an end.

There will be no more sunrises, no minutes, hours or days.

All the things you collected, whether treasured or forgotten, will pass to someone else.

Your wealth, fame and temporal power will shrivel to irrelevance.

It will not matter what you owned or what you were owed.

Your grudges, resentments, frustrations, and jealousies will finally disappear.

So, too, your hopes, ambitions, plans, and to-do lists will expire.

My tender and fragile EGO had been battered and bruised and hurt. Boo-hoo to me.

I’d tried. And failed. Tripped up. Fallen down.

I stayed on the ground for a while, unable to forgive myself.  You can’t fall any further down when you’re face-planted on a concrete floor — the ultimate safety net.

Here’s the thing: I didn’t want to take up full-time residency there. First of all, the view wasn’t great. And it was cold and damp and lonely in the basement.

It took a while to get to a sitting position. And more than a few collective breaths to stop that sucking for air reflex that comes with a hard angry cry.

It had been a long day, and longer night.
